ok – what does everyone think about this polygamy texas ranch sending children to foster homes issue? (see above article)

i dont really have time to write too much about my thoughts on the issue right now – but i’m curious as to what everyone else thinks. im largely leaning towards thinking this is kinda ridiculous to take kids away from their parents (especially their mothers) but if they are being abused, then putting them in foster homes is the better option…right?

thoughts, anyone?

“Shout to the Lord” on American Idol?

Ok, so who watched idol gives back last night? If you did, i’m sure you were just as surprised when they busted out singing “shout to the lord” at the end. granted, they strategically replaced “Jesus” with the word “Shepherd,” but at any rate, I was quite shocked that they would choose such a religious song. Not very “PC” of Fox, now is it? Of course, I don’t care at all about “PC” so it didn’t really bother me. But I had to wonder – do the contestants singing the song know what it means? Do they profess that belief? Is the Lord really their comfort and savior?

I’d love to hear what you all thought about it.
